Environment
• We offer our guests a very low carbon-impact holiday
• We continuously assess and reduce the environmental impact of running the business
• Staff use horses and cycles as much as possible for local travel
• We use nitrogen-free fertilizer in well-managed fields
• We use ‘easibed’ or alternative environmentally friendly products for stable bedding
• We install self-perpetuating energy systems where possible
• We build insulated, water-saving stables
• We assess our business partners’ environmental action plans and ensure that they fit within the principals of Travels on Horseback
Natural Heritage
• We help fund local geological and historic sites by collecting regeneration supplements from visiting guests and donating these directly to the sites
• Historic trails vividly show guests about the environment and heritage of the South West
• Expeditions immerse guests in responsible living and encourage long-term respect and protection of our countryside
Local Community
• Expeditions promote custom for local businesses including hotels, pubs and restaurants
• Travels on Horseback creates jobs for local people, and decreases their need to travel to work, thereby helping both the community and the environment
• All supplies are sourced, where possible, from local businesses
• We encourage our business partners to source all produce from within 10 miles
